COVID-19 – Updated Information For Residents

Hassocks Parish Council are endeavouring to provide updated information for residents to help meet the challenge of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.  Please find details of local and other organisations that are known to be offering help and support, or access to useful information.  (This list will be kept under review)

Hassocks & Keymer Volunteers – COVID-19

You should have received a leaflet through your door with the following information:

A Facebook Page has been set up with volunteers within the community of Hassocks and Keymer to assist people during the Covid-19 pandemic. The idea is to provide a community service to vulnerable people (those who have compulsory isolation due to health or age restrictions) so they can request assistance to source staple items that they are unable to source themselves.

These items will be provided by the community where they are able, if they have a surplus supply (as we are all aware stocks are limited)

For those who are unable to access Facebook there is a community contact number 01273 040111. These requests will be forwarded to the Facebook group.

Hassocks Community Food Bank is still open on Fridays distributing from the United Reformed Church from 10am – 12 noon, and during the current pandemic will also open on Mondays from April 20th.

It is there to help anyone who might be in need, particularly if they have been affected by the current pandemic – either through job loss, lack of income while waiting for benefits or Universal Credit or because of a strain on income as a result of children who might otherwise have free school meals being at home during the lock-down.

Not everyone has access to the internet so do let friends and neighbours know that the service is there if they need it.

Distribution of food is through a voucher system. At the moment you do not need to have a physical voucher, you can get one electronically from:
