VE Day anniversary 8th May 2025

The 8^th May 2025 marks the 80^th anniversary of VE day (Victory in Europe). To mark this event there will be a rededication of the memorial stones, that are in the Garden of Remembrance in Adastra Park. This short service will take place at 11am and will be conducted by Fr Alex from St Cosmos & St Damian Church. The names on these stones are local people who lost their lives in the two World Wars and the Falklands War. Our lovely Garden of Remembrance volunteer group have planted red, white & blue flowers in the shape of ‘VE’ adjacent to the stones, which we hope will be blooming on 8^th May. All are welcome to attend this event.
