Consultation on the future of Adastra Park

Hassocks residents are being encouraged to share their views on the future of Adastra Park as part of a consultation being carried out by Mid Sussex District Council.

The survey asks people about their experiences of using Adastra Park and any improvements they might like to see. It includes questions about comfort, safety, facilities, the grounds and the wider environment. Feedback from the consultation will be shared with Hassocks Parish Council and will help inform our own plans for improving the park.

The online survey follows an in-person consultation event in the park during the afternoon of Thursday 30 July, and will run until Friday 28 August.

Hassocks Parish Council strongly encourages residents and all park users to take part. We want to hear from a wide range of people who use and value the park, including families, young people, older residents, sports teams, community groups and those who visit for quiet recreation.

Adastra Park is owned and managed by Hassocks Parish Council and is one of the village’s most important community spaces. Situated in the centre of Hassocks, it is used throughout the year by families, residents, sports clubs and social groups. The park is a much-loved green space and a vital community asset, offering somewhere to play, exercise, meet others, enjoy organised sport or spend time outdoors.

The park includes football and cricket pitches, a popular skatepark, two playgrounds, shaded areas, a tranquil Garden of Remembrance and a sports pavilion. Residents may wish to comment on how these facilities are used now, as well as what improvements they would like to see in future. This could include views on whether the sports pavilion should be extended to provide better facilities, or ideas for making the park more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for different users.
