Notification has been received from Mid Sussex District Council that this application will be considered by the Planning Committee on 8 April 2021 and is recommend for Permission

Minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held virtually on

P20/182 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.  There were no apologies for absence.

P20/183 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST. Cllr Claire Tester declared a personal non-pecuniary interest in application DM/21/0882 50 Church Mead Hassocks West Sussex BN6 8BW.

P20/184 MINUTES. It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 15 March 2021, be signed by the Chair as a true and accurate record of the meeting.

DM/21/0932 4 Fir Tree Way Hassocks West Sussex BN6 8BT Change of use of adjoining land to be used as residential relating to the property. Removal of existing garden wall and erection of new garden boundary wall. Response: RECOMMEND REFUSAL. This application would be detrimental to the street scene and character of the surrounding area and is therefore contrary to Character and Design, Policy 9, of the Hassocks Neighbourhood Plan and Policy DP26 of the District Plan. Furthermore, it is considered that the erection of a boundary wall in the proposed location would impact on the vehicle sight line on the adjacent highway.

P20/190.1 Application DM/21/0165 – Mill Nursery London Road  Hassocks  West Sussex  BN6 9NB Demolition of existing buildings and erection of 3no. four-bedroom dwellings and 1no. four bedroom replacement dwelling with associated parking, amenity space and landscaping. Members noted that this application is to be considered by the Mid Sussex District Council Planning Committee on 8 April 2021 and that the application is recommend for PermissionCllr Claire Tester is to speak at the meeting on behalf of the Parish Council in opposition to this application.

P20/190.2 Soft Sand Review of the Joint Minerals Local Plan – Adoption. Members noted the following correspondence had been received from West Sussex County Council. In partnership, West Sussex County Council and the South Downs National Park Authority have undertaken a Soft Sand Review of the West Sussex Joint Minerals Local Plan, as required by Policy M2 of the adopted Plan.

The Inspector’s Report and modifications recommended by the Planning Inspector were considered by West Sussex County Council on 19 March 2021, and by the South Downs National Park Authority on 25 March 2021.

Both Authorities resolved to adopt the formal changes to the JMLP, with effect from 25 March 2021.
