The District Council is currently reviewing the policy in the light of legislative change and has taken the opportunity to refresh and revise the rest of the policy text based on experience over the past fifteen years.
The principle changes being made are as follows:
The District Council values the role of local councils in providing street names for developments that reflect and help preserve the history of local areas. We are therefore initiating a consultation with yourselves on the revised policy text and would welcome your Council’s comments.

P25/51 MINUTES. It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on
18th August 2025 be signed by the Chair as a true and accurate record of the meeting.

P25/55 MSDC CONSULTATIONS: Members were invited to review the following Mid Sussex District Council Draft Policy Consultations and consider whether to make a representation on behalf of Hassocks Parish Council – MSDC Street Naming & Numbering Policy.
RECOMMENDATION: The committee spent some time discussing the consultation, it was RESOLVED that there was no need for the committee to make any representation.
