Minutes of the PLANNING COMMITTEE Meeting held on Monday 29th September 2025 at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre, Adastra Park, Hassocks

Attendees: Parish Councillors: Cllr Lesley Cruickshank-Robb, Cllr Don McBeth, Cllr Bob Brewer,
Cllr Kristian Berggreen, Cllr Bill Hatton.

In Attendance: Deputy Clerk – Helen Valler, one member of the public.

P25/58 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE. Apologies were received from Cllr Maria Angelaki-king.

P25/59 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST. There were no declarations of interest.

P25/60 MINUTES. It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on
8th September 2025 be signed by the Chair as a true and accurate record of the meeting.

P25/61 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION. One member of the public spoke in objection of P25/62.1

P25/62 APPLICATIONS:

P25/62.1 DM/25/2253 Land To The Rear Of 2 Keymer Road Hassocks West Sussex BN6 8HA Erection of a dwelling within the rear garden of 2 Keymer Road.

RECOMMENDATION:  Recommend refusal.

  • Over development of the site
  • There is no provision for vehicular access to the site
  • The development is detrimental to the surrounding properties, noise, loss of privacy.
  • DP26 – Character & Design. The design is not in keeping with the surrounding properties

  • The committee would like to request that this application is not decided at officer level and is called into committee.
