Reduce by 1m-2m all round and crown lift to 4m from ground level.. no wounds exceeding 50mm in diameter. Secondary growth only. Reduced ultimate height to 6.5m-7.5m and 6m spread.
5.8 DM/26/1132 Land Parcel To The North Of Nos. 42-54 Hurst Road Hassocks West Sussex Proposed tractor parking area, donkey enclosure, donkey stable, 3 shepherd huts and a wildlife pond. Retrospective consent for 2.1m high boundary fencing and access gates. (Additional supporting photographs, information and fencing details received 11.06.2026).
5.9 DM/26/1502 2 Keymer Road Hassocks West Sussex BN6 8HA Variation of condition no 2 to planning application DM/23/3181 to allow for design changes.
5.10 DM/26/0596 The Royal British Legion Woodsland Road Hassocks West Sussex BN6 8HE Change of use of the existing vacant social club (use Class F2) to six residential units (use Class C3), with a first floor extension proposed above the existing ground floor addition to the front of the building, together with the installation of new windows, roof lights, solar panels and heat pumps and a bin and cycle store (Amended plans received 18.06.26 and 19.06.26).

Attendees: Parish Councillors: Cllr Kristian Berggreen, Cllr Bob Brewer, Cllr Lesley Cruikshank-Robb, Cllr Peter Reime. Cllr Don McBeth.
In Attendance: Deputy Clerk Helen Valler. Three members of the public.
P26/23 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE. Apologies for absence were received and accepted from Cllr Maria Angelaki-King and Bill Hatton.
P26/24 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST. There were no declarations of interest.
P26/25 MINUTES. It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 8th June 2026 be signed by the Chair as a true and accurate record of the meeting.

P26/27 APPLICATIONS:

RECOMMENDATION: The committee continue to have concerns surrounding this development,
DP27 – Dwelling space standards – The four flats on the ground floor, particularly Unit C don’t meet the minimum.
DP26 – Character & Design
The only access to the two heat pumps at the back of the building seems to be through Unit C, which is not practical. There is still no provision for electric car charging within the design.
